Lincoln Chauffeur Program: An All-Around Luxury Experience

Lincoln Chauffeur program

Lincoln’s Chauffeur program is only one call away

One thing that sets Lincoln apart from other auto brands is that the company focuses on service-based experiences in addition to innovation and luxury. In other words, Lincoln is working to provide additional incentives like pickup and delivery for any model that needs service, a Lincoln Chauffeur program, and more. When you buy a Lincoln, you get much more than just a car.

Lincoln Chauffeur Program

According to Autonews, the Lincoln service experience is getting some upgrades. The Chauffeur program, for instance, allows you to call for a personal driver to help you run errands, get gas, pick up the kids, and more. Though just a pilot program at the moment, this premium experience is something you simply can’t find when you buy from other luxury brands.

“We want to make every one of those experiences feel warm, human and personally crafted,” Lincoln President Kumar Galhotra told Automotive News. “We’ve been very consistent with that. That’s a key differentiator for us.”

Lincoln was also the first brand to offer free pickup and delivery on any vehicle for service, but the brand is also developing strategies for service-based experiences before they even design new cars. This strategy allows the brand to know what customers want in more detailed ways than ever before. One new feature includes Lincoln Date Night, which allows people in certain areas to set up a 24-hour test drive of a new Lincoln, receiving a gift card to spend on dinner. You can essentially get a meal and a new ride for a day to see what owning a luxury car might be like.

Lincoln also offers a premium Black Label service which comes with special representatives that work with you one-on-one to design and customize your Lincoln. To learn more about the many Lincoln service amenities, stop by Mountaineer Lincoln today.

Next-Generation Lincoln Navigator Debuts in New York

The previous generation of the Lincoln Navigator had been in production for a decade, making it a prime candidate for getting a total makeover. Experts and enthusiasts alike knew a fresh take on the nameplate was in the works when a Navigator Concept made its way to the New York Auto Show stage last year. For the 2018 model year, however, Lincoln debuted the next-generation Lincoln Navigator at this year’s New York event.

Lincoln dropped a teaser of the new Navigator ahead of the show on April 10th, with a shadowy image depicting the 2018 model’s darkened silhouette illuminated by brilliant headlights. The auto show reveal showed off even more goodies: a flashy new chrome grille and cool new wheels. From the puddle lamp that illuminates the ground under the front doors as the driver approaches to the totally revamped interior, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator was clearly designed with next-level luxury in mind.

A host of new and innovative technology will be available in the next-generation Lincoln Navigator, including a Wi-Fi hotspot that can support 10 devices and the SYNC 3 system. A new twin-turbo V6 will deliver 450 HP when mated to Ford’s 10-speed transmission.

We at Mountaineer Lincoln are very excited for when the production 2018 Navigator comes to our dealer lot.

Lincoln’s Chinese Production to Move to SUVs

Lincoln was late to the game when it came to entering China, the largest automotive market in the world. German and American rivals have gotten a jump when it comes to brand recognition, but Lincoln will turn the tables in a few short years. Lincoln’s Chinese production will move to the creation of a new SUV catered to the home market.

Lincoln’s new luxury SUV is set to roll off the line toward the end of 2019. The automaker currently imports vehicles into China, but that isn’t enough to meet the incredible demand. Sales leapt an astounding 180% in 2016 alone.

Despite the move to local production, Lincoln will continue to import vehicles from North America in order to meet demand.

“The move to local production is a key next step in Lincoln’s evolution in China and will complement continued imports from North America,” Ford Motor Company said in a statement.

Lincoln plans to have a total of 80 dealerships in China by the end of 2017. The brand will also open up to 10 smaller stores in low-tier Chinese cities.

Officials are keeping information regarding the new SUV under wraps for the time being. Expect to hear more about the upcoming model through the 2018 model year.

We at Mountaineer Lincoln are pumped to see Lincoln surpass the competition with ease!

2019 Lincoln MKZ Could Be the Last

2019 Lincoln MKZ

The Lincoln MKZ is only in its second generation, but rumors are already swirling of the luxury sedan’s forthcoming demise. According to reports, the 2019 Lincoln MKZ could very well be the last as the brand aims to add more crossovers and SUVs to the lineup. While the MKZ may disappear, the name may stick around.

According to a report by Autoline Daily, the 2019 model year may be the last we see of the midsize sedan. The potential cut could come as a result of several production moves, namely the Ford Focus moving to Mexico and the Flat Rock assembly plant being converted into an electric- and autonomous-vehicle center.

While this may be the end for the MKZ nameplate, it may not be the last we see of a midsize sedan on the Lincoln lineup. Lincoln has seen great success with the new Continental, a naming structure that wanders from the alphanumeric.

If one thing is for certain, it’s that the Lincoln MKZ won’t be cut due to slow sales. The MKZ was one of the brand bestselling models in 2016 with over 30,000 sales.

We at Mountaineer Lincoln are excited for the future of such an incredible luxury brand!

J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study Recognizes Lincoln

2017 Lincoln Continental - J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability StudyJ.D. Power is known for studies and findings that reveal the most dependable and reliable brands in the automotive industry. This year’s dependability study recognized quite a few brands for their premium offerings, including Lincoln. The rankings are in and further prove that long-term quality is a major factor in the purchasing decisions of consumers.

As a major luxury brand in North America, Lincoln has proven its designs and engineering are optimized for long-term dependability. The most recent study by J.D. Power, based on 2014-model-year vehicles, proves their worth.

Based on problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln scored well with just 150 owner-reported issues in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. For comparison, the industry average was 156 owner-reported issues per 100 vehicles. While some luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, scored much lower, others scored well above average. Land Rover, for example, had 178 owner-reported issues per 100 vehicles.

Of the total scores, Lincoln ranked 12th of 31 brands. J.D. Power surveyed a total of 35,186 owners to conclude the study. Notably, Lincoln performed better than Cadillac with 150 versus 152 points-per-100 vehicles.

Most owners had problems with entertainment, media, and other technology systems, resulting in a higher amount of owner-reported issues across the board.

We at Mountaineer Lincoln are proud to see such an incredible brand scoring so well in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study!

How to Throw a Mardi Gras Party

How to Throw a Mardi Gras Party

There’s nothing as good at getting rid of the winter blues as a great, colorful party. Mardi Gras has been celebrated all around the world for many years, and it makes for a fun, thematic get together. Here’s how to throw the perfect Mardi Gras party this year.

Decorations

As with any great party, you’ll need to set the mood. Decorate using the Mardi Gras colors: purple, green, and gold. Hang streamers, blow up balloons, and be sure you have plenty of traditional beads. Encourage guests to dress up in masquerade wear to add to the ambiance.

Activities

Before your guests arrive, set up a playlist full of New Orleans jazz, zydeco and other music from the Big Easy. Clear a space where guests can dance and mingle. Create a craft station and invite guests to decorate their own masquerade masks with feathers, paint, glitter, and ribbon.

Food

Mardi Gras is all about one last indulgence before Lent, so the food is an important part! Turn New Orleans classics like Muffuletta sandwiches into bite size snacks. Serve Cajun classics like red beans and rice, fried catfish, or jambalaya. And don’t forget to bake a big, colorful King Cake with a prize inside. Traditionally, whoever eats the piece with the prize becomes King for the day!

Lincoln’s 2016 Sales Finish Strong

2017 Lincoln Continental - Beckley, WV

Thanks to cars like the Continental, Lincoln is prospering.

Both here in the United States and across the world in China, Lincoln’s 2016 sales are an excellent sign. U.S. sales finished off with a 10% gain, Lincoln’s best sales in nine years. In addition, sales in China tripled over the past year, making Lincoln the fastest-growing luxury brand there.

“The momentum is both gratifying and encouraging,” said Kumar Galhotra, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. “We’re pleased clients are recognizing the superior experiences and vehicles Lincoln offers.”

Here in the U.S., Lincoln’s sales growth was especially significant. Lincoln saw a 10% growth, while the rest of the luxury market grew by less than 1%. The best markets for Lincoln included New York with sales growth of 13%; Florida, which was up by 10%; and New Jersey, where sales jumped 9%.

The all-new Continental helped give 2016 a big finish, with December sales up 18% when compared to December 2015. In fact, the flagship Continental was single-handedly responsible for 64% of December growth.

In December, Lincoln sold 1,845 Continental sedans, up from 1,419 in November. In addition, the Continental outsold both the Audi A6 and Lexus GS.

Here at Mountaineer Lincoln, we had a great 2016, too. And, with these excellent sales numbers, we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.
