Following the unveiling of the 2017 Lincoln Continental, the brand has recently accomplished its goal of revamping its lineup to include a number of strong contenders in the core segments. The company now has a full-size SUV, three crossovers, and two sedans under its belt, and following this accomplishment, Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra hints that a new Lincoln lineup with more vehicles that deviate from the “core” classes could be in the works in coming years.
Two crossovers, the MKC and the MKX, were brand-new for the 2015 and 2016 model years, respectively, and their new generations were followed by the introduction of the 2017 MKZ sedan and Continental. With its current life cycle coming to an end, the MKT could see an update as well. After all of its central frontrunners have been revamped, that leaves Lincoln open to work on other new vehicles — possibly a sporty coupe or even a convertible. Galhotra admits that Lincoln currently plans to add at least two new products to the lineup in coming years.
Under Galhotra’s leadership, the new Lincoln lineup has been entirely reorganized and refocused to target the most popular and crucial segments in the auto industry, with an underlying central theme of “quiet luxury.” Critics speculate that under this focus on upscale comforts and amenities, it’s unlikely that Lincoln will release a performance car — but more sporty, energetic vehicles may be on the way.
For the final stop in the Black Label at Home tour, Lincoln shows off its exclusive designer themes at a private residence in the Urban Reserve neighborhood in Dallas, Texas.
In the 4,000-square-foot home, luxury clients get to experience each of the four themes: Center Stage, Modern Heritage, Indulgence, and Oasis, in a home setting. The theme colors and materials are complemented by photography from Art Stelber, whose work includes photographs taken backstage at the Oscars.
“Black Label is Lincoln’s ultimate expression of luxury,” said Sally Garrett, Lincoln Black Label brand marketing manager, in a statement. “The Black Label at Home program has taken us to some of the most exclusive addresses in the country, and certainly Urban Reserve provides another luxurious elegant setting to tell that story.”
The Black Label at Home tour made previous stops in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City. It will be on display in Dallas through June 4th.
The Black Label themes are available in both the Lincoln MKZ and MKC. They include premium materials and designer woods specially curated to tell a story. Which Black Label collection would you love to have in your Lincoln?
Not too long ago Lincoln introduced its exclusive Black Label collections for the 2015 MKZ sedan and MKC utility. Recently, Lincoln has been traveling the country with its Black Label designs with a stop most recently in New York City.
Lincoln designers took over a penthouse in Union Square to showcase each of the four Black Label themes—Center Stage, Indulgence, Oasis, and Modern Heritage. The event is called Black Label at Home and coincided with Lincoln’s sponsorship of the Tribeca Film Festival. Guests were able to enjoy the Lincoln Black Label collection along with new films.
“Each Black Label at Home experience represents a special opportunity for Lincoln,” said Lee Jelenic, Lincoln U.S. marketing manager, in a statement. “But when you factor in the importance of being in New York, and then the relationships we’ve built as a supporter of the Tribeca Film Festival, this is going to be a fantastic week.”
Each Lincoln Black Label theme includes high-end luxury materials such as Venetian leather, designer woods, and Alcantara. Each theme is expertly crafted to convey the ideal mood.

Whether it was Matthew McConaughey in our new favorite commercials, or the introduction of the high-end Lincoln Black Label, or the launch of Lincoln’s first-ever MKC, the year 2014 was a good one for the automaker. Reports showed Lincoln experienced impressive sales growth throughout the busy year.
“Lincoln built momentum in 2014 – our new products and advertising campaigns have been warmly received,” said Kumar Galhotra, Lincoln president. “We launched the brand in China, and are off to a promising start.”
The brand’s North American retail sales totaled 94,474 vehicles, a 16 percent increase over last year’s retail sales and the best yearly sales the brand has seen since 2008.
The all-new MKC played a large role in boosting Lincoln’s sales, with over 2,000 sales in the last quarter of 2014. Sales of the MKZ yielded an increase of 5% over the number posted in 2013, and the Lincoln Navigator continued the growth with a 21% increase in sales over the previous year.
For us at Mountaineer Lincoln, we look forward to seeing how the brand continues to grow throughout the year as Lincoln reaches old customers and new conquests with its quality products and customer service.
Listen. Do you hear that? Sounds like…silence. Or close to it. That’s the soothing, near-inaudible hum of the new 2015 Lincoln MKC crossover. Lincoln has gone to great heights to ensure that luxury means everything it should, and that includes a quiet ride. Motor Authority recently explained some of the features that makes the MKC “as quiet as a library.”
The Lincoln crossover has an exhaust system specifically designed to reduce noise. It even has aerodynamic mirrors that reduce that annoying sound of wind noise. If you purchase what’s called the Reserve Package, your MKC will come equipped with an acoustic windshield. The special noise-reducing tires also help the crossover achieve its luxuriously quiet cabin.
Buyers can also opt for a noise cancellation system. Microphones are installed around the cabin. They pick up undesired noise. Then, through the speaker, the car sends out opposing frequencies that cancel this noise.
Visit Mountaineer Lincoln to hear for yourself how quiet the new 2015 Lincoln MKC crossover is!
The People’s Republic of China has added two sets of three English letters to its language: MKZ and MKC. Lincoln officially made its debut in China on October 23rd, and we here at Mountaineer Lincoln expect the automaker’s premium mid-size sedan and premium small utility vehicles will become the country’s newest household names.
“Today is a significant step forward for Ford Motor Company, for the Lincoln brand, and for our business in China,” said John Lawler, Ford China chairman and CEO. “With Lincoln MKZ and MKC, we now will begin serving luxury customers in China. We believe Lincoln’s highly competitive products, coupled with its innovative and personalized ownership experience, will provide our customers with a totally differentiated offering in today’s competitive luxury auto market in China.”
The MKZ sedan will be available in three trims – Select, Reserve, and Preferred Series – with a starting price of $51,600, or 315,800 yuan. The MKC crossover adds a Reserve Series trim with all-wheel drive to its available models and begins with a price of $55,500, or 339,800 yuan.
Lincoln has plans to introduce three additional models in the country by 2016. So keep your eyes peeled to see which new models from Lincoln debut in China in the coming years.
We here at Mountaineer Lincoln are excited to see some of our favorite Lincoln models become favorites among the people of China, as well.
If you own a television then there is no doubt that you have seen the Matthew McConaughey Lincoln MKC commercials for the luxurious new SUV. The ads featuring the Oscar-winning actor started airing in September and have successfully shown that Lincoln is an auto manufacturer that produces high-class style. The Hollywood Reporter says that Lincoln is “extremely excited about the partnership and with the initial public reaction to the campaign.”
A lot of that public reaction has come in the form of parodies. Late night host Conan O’Brien had some fun mixing some bleak McConaughey monologues from the show True Detective into the ads, and daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres digitally inserted herself into the ads to tease the acclaimed actor. The new Mathew McConaughey Lincoln MKC commercials have even been mocked on South Park and Saturday Night Live, most recently.
Even though these new parodies may be having some fun at the company’s expense, Lincoln doesn’t mind the attention. As THR notes, “the campaign has people talking about Lincoln.” To test drive the luxurious crossover that everyone is talking about, stop by Mountaineer Lincoln today.
