J.D. Power is known for studies and findings that reveal the most dependable and reliable brands in the automotive industry. This year’s dependability study recognized quite a few brands for their premium offerings, including Lincoln. The rankings are in and further prove that long-term quality is a major factor in the purchasing decisions of consumers.
As a major luxury brand in North America, Lincoln has proven its designs and engineering are optimized for long-term dependability. The most recent study by J.D. Power, based on 2014-model-year vehicles, proves their worth.
Based on problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln scored well with just 150 owner-reported issues in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. For comparison, the industry average was 156 owner-reported issues per 100 vehicles. While some luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz, scored much lower, others scored well above average. Land Rover, for example, had 178 owner-reported issues per 100 vehicles.
Of the total scores, Lincoln ranked 12th of 31 brands. J.D. Power surveyed a total of 35,186 owners to conclude the study. Notably, Lincoln performed better than Cadillac with 150 versus 152 points-per-100 vehicles.
Most owners had problems with entertainment, media, and other technology systems, resulting in a higher amount of owner-reported issues across the board.
We at Mountaineer Lincoln are proud to see such an incredible brand scoring so well in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study!
