Ford and Amazon are working together to combine their smart technologies to connect smart homes with smart cars.
SYNC, along with Amazon’s Echo and Alexa technologies and Wink, a company that makes smart home technology, will let owners use their smart home products to access these products from their vehicles, including temperature, security systems, and lights.
Half of consumers say they plan to buy at least one piece of smart technology within the year, and with how frequently many homeowners travel, systems like these help Ford owners keep an eye on their homes and pets from far away. And with integrating Amazon Echo, users can access these controls from their mobile devices without being in their cars.
With “more than 15 million SYNC-equipped vehicles on roads around the world and 43 million expected by 2020,” according to Ford, this SYNC integration with Amazon and Wink will most likely have an enormous effect on the smart home industry.
